Africa faces diabetes crisis, study finds

África enfrenta una crisis de diabetes, según un estudio

Researchers report that Africa is facing a diabetes crisis driven by several factors. They identify poor eating habits, limited access to health care, obesity and low levels of physical activity as the main drivers of rising diabetes across the continent. According to the researchers, these factors often act together: unhealthy diets and inactivity contribute to weight gain and obesity, while lack of health-care access can delay diagnosis and treatment. The study presents these four elements as key contributors to increasing diabetes rates in many African countries and highlights the scale of the public-health challenge they create.
