Hijacking attempt on Flydubai flight reveals worrying security gaps

A hijacking attempt on a Flydubai flight has highlighted worrying gaps in aviation security. Early indications suggest the airline's co-pilot acted alone in the attack, officials said. Witnesses and reports say a group of unidentified men intervened on board and stepped in to keep the plane from crashing. News outlets and authorities have raised questions about who the pilots were on the flight and how the situation developed. The United Arab Emirates shared details about the Flydubai flight with Israel, including the pilots' names and nationalities. The incident has prompted scrutiny of security procedures and information sharing around flights that carry international crews and passengers.
