MSF reports 150 new cholera cases in Haiti
MSF informa 150 nuevos casos de cólera en Haití
Medecins Sans Frontiere (MSF), also known as Doctors Without Borders, says cholera is rising in Haiti. The nongovernmental health organization reports that 150 Haitians were treated for cholera between Feb. 15 and March 6. The Cite Soleil neighborhood recorded 19 infections. MSF expressed concern because many Haitians have reduced access to clean water while victims of gang violence are living on the streets in unsanitary conditions. The organization warned that the combination of limited water and poor sanitation could make the outbreak worse and called attention to the urgent need for better water and hygiene services.
